The Optional Report Writer Feature
The Report Writer is an optional module available with payroll (not HR3pay Lite). It is used to modify existing reports or create new reports for use within the Report Explorer.
Getting help with Report Writer:
The Report Writer module includes
a comprehensive Report Builder
guide for reference. The guide, tutorial and help file can all
be accessed under the Help option
on the main payroll menu.
The guide is in PDF format for which Adobe Acrobat Reader is required. This is available free from the Adobe website http://www.adobe.com. We recommend printing a hard copy of the guide for ease of use, and it has been designed for both single and double-sided printing.
Separate to the guide is a Report Writer Tutorial, a tool which can be used to perform the exercises outlined in the tutorial, and to develop reports for use in payroll. There is a separate help file available within the Report Writer tool.
If the Report Writer help options are not available on the Help menu, they may have been excluded at the time of installation. They can be installed at any time:
- Re-run the payroll installation from the current CD.
- On the program maintenance screen, select modify, then click next.
- Select to include the Report Writer tutorial, then proceed with the installation.
